A note from the elders: Coronavirus

Dear Church Family,

We are all aware of the coronavirus and the serious effects it has had not only from a health standpoint but also economically and socially. We all need to be alert and take the necessary personal precautions.

We know that schools, sporting events and other activities are either shutting down or suspending their activities while this virus runs its course. As elders and those responsible for the well-being of the church we are staying aware of conditions, especially those that might directly affect us.

As of last night there are 44 confirmed cases in Texas with 11 of those being in a quarantined condition. Then, just this morning a case was confirmed in San Antonio. The mayor declared a 7 day moratorium on gatherings of over 500 in a room at one time. We have read the official declaration and it excludes worship services from any restrictions. We don’t have more than 500 in a room at one time anyway so we are definitely not affected by the declaration. Therefore we are planning to conduct all our normal ministries as usual.

That could change and we will stay alert. We would again encourage you to take all personal precautions that you think are necessary. We are carefully following all of our normal procedures to provide a safe and healthy environment for you and your family at church.  Also, as always, we would ask that if you are sick that you stay home and watch the service on livestream. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact any of us.

We are praying and immensely thankful that our Lord loves us and He controls every molecule. Also, as we saw in Hebrews 2, He has delivered us from the fear of death which is the devil’s biggest weapon. Let us encourage one another and make the most of this time to shine the light of eternal life in Jesus Christ.

In His Service,
The Elders
