Coronavirus Update: Midweek and Sunday Morning Ministries (3.17.20)

Dear Church Family,

We are definitely living in unusual times as we experience the coronavirus crisis. This is a time for careful thinking as we all need to make important decisions. The elders of the church have been carefully monitoring the situation to stay informed so we can make the best choices for us as a church. After hearing the reports from our President, Governor, and Mayor as well as the CDC and the White House Coronavirus Task Force, we have come to the following decisions:

  1. We are canceling our normal weekday ministries this week. That includes the LIFE studies, Fellowship Groups, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Bereans, and Spanish Ministry.
  2. We are postponing the Women’s Retreat until September.
  3. This Sunday we will not have a public worship service but we will provide one on livestream that you can view at home beginning at 9:00 AM.

These are the decisions for this week. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated. Obviously, these are very hard decisions for us to make but we do not make them in fear or panic rather we are cooperating with the guidelines given by our leaders in an effort to get this crisis behind us as fast as possible so that we can get back to our normal ministry schedule.

In the mean time we will communicate with you often and we are exploring ways to do more ministry by means of technology. Additionally, we encourage you to pray and stay connected with the others in your fellowship group or those you share ministry with.

We recognize that this time will be difficult and we all want to minister to and help each other. If you need anything contact your fellowship group or ministry leader. Also, the church office will remain open from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday so please contact us if there is anything you need.

We know that this crisis comes under the providential oversight of our Lord and we are confident that He is using it to advance the gospel. May we encourage one another to keep our eyes on Him and the things above and may we be a bright light shining for Him in the middle of these dark times.

Maranatha,

Pastor Blakey
