General Information

Bereans Winter Retreat (BWR) is a college and career retreat hosted by Believers Fellowship. BWR will begin on Friday, January 5th and will conclude on Sunday, January 7th at Gathering Oaks Retreat in Waco, TX. This year, our theme is "With Christ" and we will be taking a look at how our Savior interacts/relates to different groups of people.

Speaker

This year we have the privilege of hearing from Joshua Scarborough from Countryside Bible Church. 

Joshua has served as an Associate Pastor at Countryside Bible Church since January 2021, having served as an Assistant Pastor since May of 2019. He assists in shepherding on of the Adult Sunday School class and the young marrieds fellowship group, and provides leadership to a variety of Countryside ministries including First Impressions, and the Membership and Baptism classes. He also serves on the conference committee and manages a variety of administrative tasks for the church.

Joshua graduated with an Associate Degree of Nursing (RN) in December of 2012, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May, 2016. He worked for over four years as a critical care nurse before becoming a Pastoral Intern at Countryside in July, 2017. In the summer of 2020, Joshua graduated with his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from The Master’s Seminary – Dallas Distance Location.

Joshua and his wonderful wife, Erin, have two daughters, Alice, and baby girl Lindsey born in September!

Payment information

The total cost of BWR is $175. This cost will cover such things as lodging, meals, a T-shirt, and activities.

To reserve your spot you must register online. Payment is due by January 1, 2024.

Transportation

We will be carpooling from the church to and from the retreat. Transportation plans will be made final one week from departure.
